Greece Wedding Videographer for Couples Marrying from Abroad

You’ve decided to get married in Greece. Maybe it’s the island you fell in love with on vacation, the village your grandparents came from, or simply the light. Whatever brought you here, you’re about to ask the people you love to cross an ocean for you, and you want a film that holds on to every bit of it.

I’m Konstantinos Liopetas, a Greece wedding videographer and destination wedding filmmaker based in Greece. I film couples from the US, Europe and beyond, and Greeks living abroad who come home to marry, from the terraces of Mykonos to the Athens Riviera and the quieter islands in between.

Why film your Greece wedding with me

Planned from abroad, without the stress

Most of my couples plan their wedding in Greece from home, often without visiting before the big day. I make that part easy. We talk at a time that suits your time zone, I coordinate directly with your planner and photographer, and I reply quickly whenever you have a question. By the time you land, your film is planned around your day.

For couples from the US and around the world

I’ve filmed couples from New York and France, and families who flew in from America and Australia. Vanessa & Alex brought their New York nightlife to Mykonos. Stephanie & Dimitris’s families crossed an ocean from America to Paros. Constance & Adrien traveled from France to Spetses. Arthur & Mary and Lauren & Anthony flew in from the USA for weddings at Lovia Mykonos and on Kasos. A destination wedding asks a lot of your guests, and a film is how everyone, including the people who couldn’t make the trip, gets to feel the day.

For Greeks abroad coming home to marry

Some of the weddings closest to my heart are homecomings. Amalia, whose roots are in Greece, returned from New York to Kythira with Chase for a traditional Greek wedding, with wedding crowns, olive branches and local flowers. Vicky & Lenny and Maria & Bryan also traveled from New York back to their roots, for Greek Orthodox weddings in Athens and at Island Art and Taste on the Athens Riviera. If you’re Greek-American, Greek-Australian or part of the diaspora anywhere, I’ll make sure your traditions and your family are at the center of the film.

A cinematic film, not just a video

I take a hands-on approach from the first call to the last song. I scout locations, plan around the light, and stay close during your ceremony so every word of your vows is captured. Afterward, I edit everything into a cinematic film with music and titles, shaped around the details that make your wedding yours.

Film and photography as one team

I often work alongside my brother, wedding photographer George Liopetas. We work as one team, so your photos and your film feel like two sides of the same story. If you’d like both, we offer a combined film and photography package with George. Just mention it when you get in touch.

Where I film weddings in Greece

Mykonos

Glamour, energy and parties that run past sunrise. Royal Myconian is the Mykonos venue I know best: I’ve filmed many weddings there, including my very first destination wedding for a couple from abroad. I’ve also filmed at Saint John Mykonos and Lovia Mykonos. See my Mykonos wedding videographer page for venues and five Mykonos films.

Athens and the Athens Riviera

The easiest seaside wedding in Greece for guests flying in: the airport is less than an hour away and the sun sets over the water. Most of my Riviera weddings take place at Island Art and Taste, and I’ve also filmed at Four Seasons Astir Palace and Golf Prive in Glyfada. In Athens, off the Riviera, the historic tower estates Pyrgos Melissourgou and Pyrgos Petreza hosted the second day of Manhar & Vaishali’s Indian wedding, and Pyrgos Petreza was also the setting for my burgundy and white editorial. See my Athens Riviera wedding videographer page.

Paros and the Greek islands

Paros is relaxed and chic, and its weddings usually take place in private villas, which makes for intimate celebrations. Spetses has its Old Harbor and lighthouse, Kythira is quiet, traditional and perfect for a homecoming, Kasos is one of Greece’s most unspoiled islands, and in Crete I filmed a two-day celebration at Art Villas Greece. See my Greek islands wedding videographer page for island films, symbolic weddings and vow renewals.

Indian weddings in Greece

Multi-day Indian weddings are a joy to film, from the games and dancing to the sacred rituals and the final party. For now, watch Manhar & Vaishali’s two-day Indian wedding in Athens.

Beyond Greece

Most of my films are made in Greece, but I’ve also filmed weddings in Tuscany, England and Cyprus, and I have a wedding booked in Germany for 2027. See my destination wedding videographer in Europe page.

What your Greece wedding film includes

Every film includes

  • A cinematic wedding film with music and titles, tailored to your day and built around your story
  • Drone footage, always included, flown where permitted
  • Combined film and photography with George Liopetas, available on request
  • A custom quote tailored to your plans, from a single day to several events

When to get married in Greece

  • Season: most weddings in Greece happen between May and October. Late May, June and September usually give you warm evenings, softer crowds and beautiful light. July and August are the busiest and hottest months.
  • Wind: in the Cyclades, including Mykonos and Paros, the summer meltemi can be strong, especially in July and August. It affects veils, florals, sound and drone flights, so we plan ceremony timing and microphone placement around it.
  • Light: a ceremony about an hour before sunset gives you warm, flattering light for your vows and portraits, and a glowing sky as you walk into dinner.

How it works when you’re planning from abroad

  4. I coordinate with your team, working directly with your planner and photographer on timing, travel between venues and backup plans for wind.
