Vanessa and Alexander could have married in New York. Instead, they brought their favorite people to the Greek island of Mykonos for a wedding that felt like a holiday for everyone. A New York Love Story

Vanessa and Alexander met during an evening with friends and quickly became inseparable. Vanessa is a scientist, and the connection was immediate. “I was absolutely fascinated because I had never met a scientist before, let alone such a beautiful one,” Alexander says. When it was time to propose, Alexander went big: what Vanessa thought was a sunset cruise in Malibu turned out to be a private yacht he had chartered just for the two of them.

Why They Chose Mykonos and the Royal Myconian

The couple wanted to give their guests a vacation, and Mykonos brought together everything they love: good food, sunshine and a festive spirit. They chose the Royal Myconian, close enough to the island’s lively center without being in the middle of it, and with a stunning view of the Aegean Sea. A Galia Lahav Gown and a Ceremony Facing the Sea

After visiting more than 30 bridal boutiques, Vanessa chose a Galia Lahav gown, one of the first she had tried on, with a sheer embroidered bodice and a light, airy skirt. She finished the look with Alexander Wang shoes. Alexander wore a white Proper Cloth tuxedo jacket with a black bow tie, Suit Supply trousers and Ferragamo loafers. They married facing the sea on the hotel terrace, transformed into an altar of white flowers, while my brother George photographed the day and I filmed. Dinner followed, and then the moment everyone had been waiting for.

A New York-Style Party on a Greek Island

The couple spent six months building a playlist with DJ Nick Russo, whom they brought over from New York, so the music would be perfect for every part of the day. Because their friends love New York nightlife, they surprised everyone with a light and sound installation inspired by the city’s clubs. Their wedding was later featured on Vogue France.
