Mykonos Wedding Videographer for Couples Marrying from Abroad

Why Mykonos deserves a film, not just a video

Mykonos weddings move fast. There’s the quiet of getting ready with the sea outside the window, vows in the wind, a golden-hour portrait session, then a party that often runs past sunrise. A straightforward video records those moments in order. A wedding film tells the story: who you are, who flew across the world for you, and how the island felt that day. One of my Mykonos weddings, Vanessa & Alex’s, was featured on Vogue.fr.

I work hands-on from the first call to the last song. I scout locations, plan around the light, and stay close during your ceremony so every word of your vows is captured. Afterward, I edit everything into a cinematic film with music and titles, shaped around the details that make your wedding yours.

Many couples also book my brother George Liopetas, a wedding photographer. We work as one team, so your photos and your film feel like two sides of the same story, without two crews competing for the same moment. If you’d like both, we offer a combined film and photography package with George. Just mention it when you get in touch.

Mykonos wedding venues I know well

Royal Myconian

Royal Myconian is the Mykonos venue I know best. I’ve filmed many weddings there, and it holds a special place for me: it’s where I filmed my very first destination wedding for a couple from abroad, Lizzie & Joshua’s. Vanessa & Alex said their vows on the terrace facing the Aegean, and Yanni & Shane celebrated there too.

Saint John Mykonos

Sam & Nikol married at Saint John Mykonos, and their film moves from quiet, emotional vows to a celebration full of energy, with sound and lighting by Sound Mykonos.

Lovia Mykonos

Arthur & Mary celebrated at Lovia Mykonos, surrounded by the family and friends who had supported them through every chapter. Their film is about love, family and everything they overcame together.

Villas, beach clubs and hilltop chapels

I’ve also filmed getting-ready moments at the Utopia Myconian Collection, and I’m happy to film anywhere on the island, from private villas to beach clubs and hilltop chapels.

Light, wind and the best time of year

A few things I tell every couple planning a Mykonos wedding:

  • Season: most Mykonos weddings happen between May and October. Late May, June and September usually give you warm evenings, softer crowds and beautiful light. July and August are the busiest and hottest months.
  • The wind: Mykonos is “the island of the winds.” The summer meltemi can be strong, especially in July and August. That affects veils, florals, sound and drone flights, so we plan ceremony timing and microphone placement around it.
  • Golden hour is everything: ceremonies timed about 60 to 90 minutes before sunset give you warm, flattering light for vows and portraits, and a glowing sky as you walk into dinner.
  • Iconic backdrops: Little Venice, the windmills and the lanes of Mykonos Town are perfect for a short portrait session, ideally early in the morning or right at sunset when the streets are calmer.

Films from Mykonos

Every Mykonos wedding film in my portfolio:

Yanni & Shane: a vibrant Mykonos celebration at Royal Myconian

Venue: Royal Myconian

With the island’s iconic views as their backdrop, Yanni and Shane’s day moved from emotional vows to a high-energy party under the Greek sky, surrounded by friends and family.

Lizzie & Joshua: my first destination wedding, at Royal Myconian

Venue: Royal Myconian (getting ready at Utopia Myconian Collection)

Lizzie and Joshua’s wedding was the first destination wedding I filmed for a couple from abroad, so it will always be special to me. They first set foot on Mykonos five years before their wedding and came back every summer, then married with friends and family who had traveled from across the world and threw the “best and biggest party possible” at Royal Myconian. The film placed 5th for People’s Choice at the Wevsy Greece Awards 2024.

Arthur & Mary: a celebration of love and family at Lovia Mykonos

Venue: Lovia Mykonos

A US couple’s story of resilience and a love that refused to give up. Surrounded by the family and friends who supported them through every chapter, Arthur and Mary celebrated everything they had overcome together, with emotion, gratitude and quiet joy.

Vanessa & Alex: a New York wedding at Royal Myconian

Venue: Royal Myconian

Vanessa and Alex traded New York for Mykonos to give their guests a true holiday. They said their vows facing the Aegean on the hotel terrace, then danced to DJ Nick Russo, flown in from New York, under a nightclub-inspired light and sound installation. Their wedding was featured on Vogue.fr.

How it works when you’re planning from abroad

Most destination couples plan their Mykonos wedding from home, often without visiting before the big day. Here’s how we make that easy:

  1. Send an inquiry with your date, venue (if you have one) and a little about you. I reply quickly.
  2. We talk through your plans at a time that works for your time zone.
  3. You receive a custom quote tailored to your wedding, and once you’re happy, we secure your date.
  4. I work with your planner. I’ve filmed Mykonos weddings alongside planners such as NAIDO Weddings and Rachel Behar Events, and I coordinate timelines directly with your planner and photographer.
  5. Wedding day, and then a film you can share with family anywhere in the world.

Kind words

“If I could give more than 5 stars I would. We had Konstantinos and his brother George photograph and film our wedding in Tuscany. We were instantly drawn to his videography style and after watching it countless times, time and time again we are blown away by our wedding video. Cannot recommend Konstantinos and his team enough…”

Mykonos wedding videography FAQ

How much does a Mykonos wedding videographer cost?

Every wedding is different, so every couple receives a custom quote tailored to their plans: your coverage, the number of events and the films you’d like. Get in touch with your date and a few details, and I’ll send yours.

Do you travel to Mykonos?

Yes. I film weddings all over Greece, including Mykonos, and I’ve also filmed weddings in Tuscany, England and Cyprus. Tell me about your plans, and I’ll tailor your coverage and quote to them.

Have you filmed weddings at Royal Myconian?

Yes, many. Royal Myconian is the Mykonos venue I know best, and it’s where I filmed my very first destination wedding for a couple from abroad, Lizzie & Joshua’s. Vanessa & Alex and Yanni & Shane also celebrated there.

How quickly do you reply to inquiries?

I reply quickly. Send your date and venue, and I’ll come back to you with availability and ideas for your film.

Do you film with a drone in Mykonos?

Yes, drone footage is always included, flown where permitted. Strong summer winds can ground a drone, so we always plan a backup.

Do you offer a combined film and photography package?

Yes. I often work alongside my brother, wedding photographer George Liopetas, and we offer a combined film and photography package on request. Mention it when you get in touch, and we’ll include it in your custom quote.

We’re having a symbolic ceremony and marrying legally at home. Can you film that?

Absolutely. Many couples hold their legal ceremony at home and celebrate in Mykonos with a symbolic ceremony. On film, it looks and feels just as meaningful.
