For Amalia, marrying in Greece was a homecoming. With roots deep in Greek culture, she returned to her homeland with Chase and their loved ones, who traveled all the way from New York, for a wedding on the sun-kissed shores of Kythira (Kithira). This Kythira wedding film captures a traditional Greek wedding with a modern, romantic heart.

From New York to Kythira

Amalia and Chase’s families and friends crossed an ocean to be with them on Kythira, gathering against a backdrop of blue water and old stone architecture. For Greek-American couples, a wedding like this is a way to bring two worlds together: honoring your heritage while welcoming everyone who’s part of your life now.

A Traditional Greek Wedding Ceremony

Amalia and Chase exchanged vows in a ceremony that embraced the essence of a traditional Greek wedding, from the wedding crowns to the heartfelt promises. Olive branches decorated the venue as symbols of peace and prosperity, and the bright colors of local flowers added a natural elegance. Planning was by Pothiti Veneri, and Amalia wore a gown by Kelly Faetanini.

A Celebration at El Sol Hotel

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the celebration at El Sol Hotel began. The couple danced under the stars, surrounded by laughter and the joy of guests who had traveled across the world. Mediterranean cuisine reflected the couple’s diverse backgrounds, and lively music and heartfelt toasts carried the night. From the wedding crowns to the last dance, every detail mixed heritage with a contemporary love story, and that’s the feeling I wanted the film to hold onto. Photography was by Nik Pekridis.

A Love That Crosses Borders

Amalia and Chase’s wedding was a reminder that love can bridge distance and culture. It wasn’t just a ceremony. It was a celebration of family and of two worlds becoming one, on an island that means home to one of them.
