Some weddings remind you that love doesn’t erase differences. It celebrates them. Tia and Richard’s wedding in Dartmouth, on the coast of Devon in England, brought together two beautiful cultures and two families, and this film follows a day that was deeply emotional, effortlessly elegant and filled with genuine moments.

Two Cultures, One Family

Tia’s South African heritage and Richard’s English roots shaped every part of the day. Each moment became a reflection of two families becoming one. As a destination wedding filmmaker, that’s the kind of story I look for: not just the couple, but where each of them comes from, and what happens when those worlds meet for the first time.

My First Wedding in England

This wedding was a special milestone for me: the very first wedding I filmed in England. Most of my films are made in Greece, and Tia and Richard’s day showed that the way I work, close, unhurried and always story-first, travels well. The setting changes. The emotion doesn’t.

The film moves the way the day did. It begins with quiet moments filled with emotion, the kind you only catch when you give people space, and builds to an unforgettable celebration with an incredible live band. I let the music carry the second half of the film, so watching it brings back the energy of the dance floor, not just the highlights.

Tia and Richard proved that the most beautiful traditions are the ones you create together. Because in the end, a wedding isn’t about where you come from. It’s about the life you choose to build together.
