After meeting during an evening with friends, Vanessa and Alexander quickly became inseparable… to the point of celebrating their wedding far from their usual New York , but on the Greek island of Mykonos . Between scientist Vanessa , who is Clinical Lab Manager at the New York Genome Center, and Alexander , director of cruise operations at Horizon Air Freight, the connection is immediate. “I was absolutely fascinated because I had never met a scientist before, let alone such a beautiful one,” says the groom.

For the proposal, Alexander went big: “We were on vacation in Malibu, California, and I told Vanessa I had tickets for a sunset cruise in the marina. Little did she know that I had secretly chartered a 45m private yacht for the two of us.”

From then on, the couple decided to fly to the island of Mykonos in Greece to give a holiday feel to their guests. The place united their three desires: good food, a sunny climate and that festive spirit that they love so much. It was therefore at the Royal Myconian Hotel that they finally settled down to welcome their wedding and their loved ones. Neither too close to the festive center of the island nor too far, the place met their expectations by also offering a unique view of the Aegean Sea.

For the occasion, Vanessa had chosen, after researching in more than 30 bridal boutiques, a Galia Lahav wedding dress , one of the first she had tried. After a wedding ceremony facing the sea on the hotel terrace transformed into an altar decorated with white flowers, the newlyweds and their guests moved on to dinner and then to the evening, a moment long awaited by everyone. “For six months, we selected a list of songs for our DJ Nick Russo, whom we brought from New York,” recalls the groom. It was very important for us to have a DJ who could set the musical ambiance we wanted for every part of the wedding: the ceremony, the cocktail, the dinner and the party.” As their friends are fans of New York clubbing, Vanessa and Alexander surprised them with a visual and sound installation inspired by the Big Apple nightclubs. Enough to ensure an endless night of celebration.
